I'm a tutor who is based out of Washington, DC, where I enjoy traveling, reading, and listening to music when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in English literature from the National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, as well as a masters of science degree in computer science from Cardinal Stritch University. I'm a fluent speaker of Mandarin Chinese, and am currently working as a Chinese language instructor at the John Hopkins University CTY program. I also have taught Chinese at public high schools in Wisconsin for six years. I'm certified to teach Chinese in the states of Wisconsin and Maryland. I'm very passionate about working with students on their Chinese language skills. I believe that every student possesses the innate ability to master the language, provided they have the right dedication and guidance. As a tutor, I seek to provide the guidance my students need to reach their language learning goals. There's nothing like the feeling I get when one of my students finally has a breakthrough moment in a topic they've been struggling with. That's why I provide individualized lesson plans to ensure my students get targeted exercises and feedback, suited to their own specific areas of need.
